Traditionally, silk is hand wash and dry clean only. DREAMSILK's™ silk is however produced to the most rigorous specifications making it machine washable, although silk always requires great care.

Silk is a natural fibre so washing it in a solution that’s too acidic or alkaline can cause the silk to harden in a single wash. You should always use a pH neutral liquid detergent and/or fabric softener. If you can't find a detergent that specifies a ph level then just go for one that specifies silk and remember to never use bleach products.

Water temperature can also change the silk material dramatically, even if just slightly above 30°C or 85°F. A cold or slightly above cold wash, as well as a delicates bag, is recommended for the longevity of your silk.

If you wish to maximise the life of your sleep mask & pillowcase then hand washing should be your preferable method.

The same sensitivity is required for drying your silk so avoid tumble drying and instead hang it to dry.

The gentler you wash your DREAMSILK™, the longer it will keep its sheen. The shinier it is, the better it will 'slip', which is one of the benefits to its health and beauty qualities.
